Why use this video cropper?

Drag-to-crop preview

Set the crop rectangle visually right on a frame of the video. Drag the corners, drag the body to reposition, see exactly what stays and what gets cut.

Aspect-ratio presets

One click for 9:16 (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), 1:1 (Instagram square), 4:5 (Instagram portrait), 16:9 (YouTube), 4:3 or Free. The rectangle locks to the ratio while you drag.

No watermark, ever

The output is a clean MP4 — no logo overlay, no banner across the bottom, no "free trial" stamp. What you crop is what you get.

Private by design

Cropping happens entirely on your device with WebAssembly. Your video is never uploaded, even when it's hundreds of megabytes.

Pixel-precise control

Need exact dimensions? Switch to the advanced panel and type X, Y, width, height in pixels. Great for matching a specific layout or content guideline.

Pick the right reference frame

First frame black or unhelpful? Scrub the timeline to a more representative frame before placing your crop. The whole video still gets cropped — only the visual reference changes.

Why you might need to crop a video

A vertical clip for tomorrow's reel

You've got a great horizontal recording from last weekend's hike — a sweep across the valley, your friend laughing in the corner. You want to post it as a Reel, but Instagram's vertical format will black-bar the sides into oblivion. You need a 9:16 crop that focuses on your friend.

You drop the MP4 in, hit the 9:16 preset, drag the now-locked rectangle until your friend sits dead-center. The dim mask around the rectangle shows you exactly what gets cut. One click, a few seconds of processing, and you've got a vertical video sized perfectly for the Reel — without a watermark, without losing the moment.

You upload it from your laptop and go to bed. The next morning the post has 800 likes.

Cleaning up a screen recording

You're putting together a product walkthrough for a client. The screen recording you took includes the whole desktop — taskbar, browser tabs, even the dock. None of that needs to be in the video; you just want the app window.

You upload the recording, scrub to a frame where the app is in its "hero" state, drag the crop rectangle to fit just the window. The pixel readout shows 1280 × 720, which is what you wanted anyway. Apply, download, drop into your slide deck.

If your client asks for a tighter crop later, you've still got the original — the tool never touches your source file.

Re-using old family footage

Your cousin asked for a clip from last summer's barbecue to put in his wedding montage. The video you've got is in 4:3 (your dad's old camcorder) and the wedding montage is 16:9. The faces you want to keep are in the middle of the frame.

You upload, lock 16:9, drag the rectangle to the people, save. It takes a minute. The trimmed clip slots straight into the montage and nobody notices it started out a different shape.
